I found the physician to be very efficient, knowledgeable and courteous as well as the staff I came in contact with. His office manager is extremely knowledgable and helpful as well and her demeanor eased my nervousness in anticipation of having a colonoscopy. I would highly recommend Dr. Au to any family and/or friends.
office staff do not care to be corrected, had to go back to fill out paperwork that they forgotten to have me fill out. Then the day before when starting diet/Take meds,surgery center called to cancel because of medical information was wrong. Never met Dr Au on any of my appointments. I will not reschedule with this Dr.! And will start reading reviews before going to recommended Dr.'s.
My husband had a colonoscopy and an upper GI. Each time he meet with Dr. Au's practioners and never with the doctor. The follow up appointment were like everything is okay. Then we asked did they find anything, there answer was no. Went to a follow up appt with our regular doctor and she was the one that told us that we needed to see a specialist and that there were some problems. Really Dr. Au, who we never meet or saw, could not of told us? The misread the reports and cause major bleeding. The office staff was rude and not very helpful. Our doctor called and talked to Dr. Au and he said he would refer my husband to a specialist. Never did. After a week, we called and somehow they forgot. There was no follow through. Then we wanted a copy of my husband's records and they gave us a run around. We even talked to the office manager.
I was referred to Dr. Au by my primary physician and have found his services and bedside manner to be exemplary. His physician assistants are extremely educated and provider excellent service as well. I did not like the wait time to be seen, but that is comparable to the wait at any physician office really.
Scheduled in for both upper and lower GI endoscopy. Had consultation with Dr. Au's physician assistant before and after procedure.This woman advocated the procedures. I suppose this is a reaction to people's natural resistance to it. Never spoke to Dr. Au directly, such is the number of patients he examines on a regular basis, or the negative findings of the exam, I suppose. The business operation and the medical operation are well run, but run on a volume basis. The operatory is clean and neat and well run. The anesthesia sedation is gentle, effective and I've no memory of the procedure itself. If there is fault, it is in climate control in the waiting room, difficulty in obtaining refills on a prescription. If you are considering this doctor and having these procedures, you have nothing to worry about as far as having the procedure(s) competently performed. The worst part, as people might tell you is the pre-exam preparation, which you do at home.
I am extremely disappointed with the Dr and his staff. If you want personal service go somewhere else. I feel almost like it was a factory. Patients wheeled in and had the tests and then wheeled out. No follow through and then they misdiagnosed him. Causing more bleeding and an ER admittance.
